SWGC OPEN DAY
Every now and again South West Gauteng TVET College holds an Open Day aimed at high school learners between grades 9 to 11, their parents and teachers. On Friday, 25 October 2019 at the Technisa Campus in Randburg it was held, where prospective students from over five (5) different schools, coming from areas such as Cosmo City, Diepsloot, Lanseria as well as Ferndale took part.
Leaners are constantly facing the challenge of having to choose the right subjects to match their dream careers, and in doing so, one needs to go through appropriate guidance, thus SWGC has the responsibility to educate and inform them about the career paths that exist in the TVET sector by showcasing the vast study opportunities that it has to offer.
The Open Day presented an ideal platform for learners to explore the institution of higher learning study opportunities with on-the-spot assistance and advice as well as personal interactions with the college staff to explain the different academic programmes and what they entail to make the best study choice.
All faculties and Units took part in this event, the activities included:
 Displays by all programmes.
 Walkabouts
 Library Tours and exposure to some of the facilities on campus
 Personal interactions with Lectures and the current students.
This was indeed a success and as we always say….
