  • Vocational Study Opportunity at South West Gauteng College

    From 2007, Public FET Colleges has been offering exciting, modern and relevant programmes of study in vocational programmes. These vocational programmes are of high skills, high quality and high knowledge programmes introduced at FET Colleges. They are intented to directly respond to the priority skills demands of the modern economy.

    Entrance Requirements

    Minimum requirement is a successful Grade 9, but even better is successful Grade 10, 11 or Grade 12.

    A year-end school report for Grade 9 or higher; or

    An NQF Level 1 Qualification; or

    ABET Level 4

    A Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL) assessment to meet the basic requirement for access to NQF Level 2

    Duration of Qualification

    The National Certificate qualification is a full year programme at each of the NQF Levels of study. A student is issued with a certificate on successful completion of each level of study.

  • Hospitality NC(V) Level 2-4

    Hospitality studies provide the students with theoritical and practical skills to operate as a cook, waitron or accomodation assistant in various hospitality establishments. This programme will also include some client service and human relations skills. This programe integrates academic knowledge and theory with practical skills and values

    Education and Development NC(V) is a qualification at each of the Levels 2, 3 and 4 of the NQF. This qualificaton is designed to provide both the theory and and practice of Education and Development. The practical component of study may be offered in a real workspace environment. it will provide students with an opportunity to experience workspace environment. It will provide students with the opportunity ro experience work situations during the period of study.

    Safety in Society NC(V) is designed to provide both the theory and practice of safety in society. The practical component of the study may be offered in real workspace environment or simulated workplace environment. It will provide students with an opportunity to experience work situations during the period of study.

    In a nutshell the primary agriculture programme covers all sciences around plant and animal production and nutrition as well as the economical impact thereof. With this programme you can enter the agriculture field either as a farmer, manager or advisor. This programme integrates academic knowledge and theory with practical skills and values. Which are the fundamental subjects?

    The 3 fundamental subjects are:
