PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS
PERSONNEL END-OF-YEAR FUNCTION, 8 December, 2011
Festive greetings to all of you, ladies and gentlemen! Our acknowledgement and respect to members of Council in attendance, My recognition to members of the college’s Senior Management, members of the college’s Broad Management Team, Campus Management Teams – most of whom are not here due to a very important and urgent bid that they are working for submission tomorrow. My respect to all managers of our different units, who are not part of the BMT, and, last and by no means, least: my acknowledgement and respect, to all the members of staff of the college, from all campuses and sites of the college- believe me, if this college ticks, you are all, what makes SWGC tick. In a way, you are South West Gauteng College, and today, we are saying, to each of one of you, thanks for a comparatively better year!

Whoever coined the phrase: ‘ Never say never!’ must have had some rare insight about both life and the future.
We finished last year, 2010, still licking the wounds of the results of the previous year. We were wounded lions – emphasis on both ‘wounded’ and ‘lions’. When someone is wounded, it is serious stuff and if that wounded someone also happens to be a lion, it is even more serious - even ferocious - and you should not be surprised to see sparks flying! Such was our condition and psychological make-up when we finished last year.
