Opening and Welcoming Function 2017

Personnel Opening and Welcoming Ceremony

A cold, cloudy Friday morning of the 3rd of March 2017 at Roodepoort West Campus, started with the marketing department “up-and-about” ironing the last minute touch ups of what is to welcome all college staff members to the annual, yet exceptional, opening and Welcoming Ceremony.

The gathering was themed “’Time’ to reclaim everything that disruptions and other distractions have stolen from us!” The aim was mainly to cascade plans for 2017 to all the operational staff and acknowledge what has been the hard efforts, zealously exhibited by academic staff and students in the year 2016.

Roodepoort campus claimed victory as they became no.1 best performing Campus in the overall results of the college. Molapo was the sheen of the day as they were called three times on stage to receive awards and trophies for being the 2nd Best Performing Campus, Campus with the Highest Number of Distinctions (1266) and Campus with the most improved results (4.85%).

Lecturers that performed well by producing excellent results and higher pass rate were also awarded. Obtaining position one with 100% was Ms. Malefo Kefilwe from Dobsonville Campus followed by Mr. Motloung Jeffrey from  Molapo Campus who obtained an average performance percentage of 97, 62. This achievement can be spread across by sharing good practices with other lecturers. Mr. Nkosi, Principal, further awarded the navy blue jacketto Ms. Ivy Mafokoane  from Roodepoort Campus who have been in the Platinum Club Membership for four successive years. Platinum Club Membership is the College’s exclusive membership where you get to be invited when you have received an average performance that is between 90 – 100% and if you remain in the platinum for 4 consecutive years, you are then awarded with a status jacket that is called ‘Navy Jacket’.

Students who performed excellently well in 2016 end of year examinationswere also awarded and below are their rankings in both NC (V) and Report 191. Amongst these students, some jetted off to our partner college, Noorderpoort in Holland, Netherlands for an exchange program.  We wish them the best and hope they have learned a lotand will be able to enlighten their peers with their experiences.
