NATIONAL DIPLOMA (N4 - N6)

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

National Senior Certificate (NSC) or N3 subjects according to an M Score rating of a minimum of 24 points.
Prerequisite for Financial Accounting N4 is matric or NSC Accounting. Intro Accounting not sufficient to carry on with N4 Financial Accounting.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

South West Gauteng College acknowledges the value of prior learning.

Students register in January and June.

Compulsory Subjects

EXAMINATIONS

  • Internal evaluation, formal and informal testing, takes place on a continuous basis. These marks determine the semester mark.
  • External examinations are written at the end of each semester and a candidate is required to obtain at least 40% in 3 out of 4 of the instructional offerings. To obtain a certificate at that level, all 4 instructional offerings must be passed.
  • All lectures are conducted in English only but candidates have the option of English or Afrikaans for the exams at Roodepoort Campus.

NATIONAL DIPLOMA

  • Students with an N6 Certificate and 18 months relevant practical experience can apply for a National Diploma if the compulsory subjects are met.

OPEN LEARNING SYSTEM:

Classes are also available on a PART-TIME basis.
